a back to the basics series

Time: 1pm prompt.

Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
II Corinthians 5:16-17 NKJV
It’s a basic expectation in the kingdom that who you are before and after you meet Christ are two distinct persons. There must be a change to herald that encounter of yours with the Lord.
If you and your environment can’t testify of undeniable changes in you since you met Christ, then there is a problem of stunted growth.
We trust God for the power to inspire that change in this up coming symposium. Join us as we draw out from God’s word, life changing truths.
There are two major reasons people give in their defense against paying tithe. The first is that it is an Old Testament practice. The second is that there is no record of it as a New Testament practice.
Both arguments are wrong.
Let’s look at some New Testament scriptures that point to the relevance of tithe in the New Testament.
The idea that the believer is meant to eat his or her tithe instead if giving it to church is based on a major misconception. In the Old Testament, there were three sorts of tithes to be paid from the people, besides those from the Levites to the priests;
Does grace overlook it when we sin? No, it doesn’t. The Scripture says;
“…Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.”Matthew 5:22NKJV
And again, in James it says;
“Whoever keeps the whole Law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it”.James 2:10 Berean Study Bible (More on these verses in my next post, because I know how these verses are easily labeled ‘Old Testament in nature’).
With that said, we need to understand the position of grace in relation to sin, so, let’s look at a profound verse in Romans:
In my first post about this doctrine of ‘once saved, forever saved’, I said that many are poorly equipped to fight this error. So, in order for us to be better equipped, I spoke about the fundamentals of their philosophy of ‘grace’, so that we know what we’re up against. In this post, I want to speak about another factor that many lack which makes them ill-equipped to contend for the true gospel of grace – it is the rules of engagement which should govern us in this ‘civil war’ in Christianity.
There is a new wave of doctrinal error rampaging the church.
Those who peddle this erroneous message are called ‘hyper grace’ teachers/preachers and like Jude, “I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ“. Jude 1:3-4 NKJV
This fight for the faith has been waging since time immemorial. It’s not new.
In our last post we spoke on the significance of the Man Child, today, what I want to do is show us what we need to do to transit from ‘The Woman’ (of Revelation Chapter 12) to the Man Child. To do this I have to expound on the significance of the attire of the Woman – the ‘sun, moon and 12 stars’.
Clothed with the Sun.
Like we said before, the Sun is the glory of the Father, each time the Woman surfaced on the earth, she was clothed with the glory of the Father. In Israel before Moses was born, it was the Blessings of Jacob upon his twelve sons, in Mary, it was the Power of the Holy Spirit that overshadowed her. Therefore, it is of uttermost importance that this generation be clothed with the glory of the Father if we must take the leap from being the Woman to being the Man Child.
I have nothing against “modern worship” and I’m not “against” light shows, etc. but if they are “necessary” to draw the people, then there’s something wrong. God wants us to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, as these young men obviously are.
